New Fairfield,

Welcome to beautiful, scenic New Fairfield,
Connecticut
Small town New England charm
Incorporated in 1740, New Fairfield was divided in 1742
into what are now the towns of New Fairfield and
Sherman. In the early 1900's, Candlewood Lake was
formed, and New Fairfield and the surrounding areas
became a popular summer vacation destination.
Gradually over the years, and especially after World War
II, people began building permanent homes in the area,
and New Fairfield's population of full-time residents
gradually increases to this day.
Today, New Fairfield is a quiet, scenic community of
about 14,000 residents. Residents live in a mix of
mid-century ranch homes, lakefront communities, a few
remaining antique farmhouses, and a spattering of small
new-home subdivisions. There are also a limited
number of active-adult townhome communities in the town.
Home prices range from the $200,000's to multi-million
dollar lakefront estates.
